I, Tashera Simmons, am thrilled to announce an exciting collaboration between The Recovery Education Foundation (The R.A.R.E. Foundation) and My Freedom Project, powered by Equifax and Kredit Koncepts Financial Service, to further the reach and impact of our “Educate a Student. Protect Yourself” initiative. Together, we’re committed to empowering high school students by bringing financial literacy education directly into their lives.

I founded My Freedom Project, based in Yonkers, NY, out of a deep desire to transform young lives. Seeing the urgent need for early financial education and mental health support, I wanted to create a nonprofit dedicated to empowering children with comprehensive credit education, practical financial literacy skills, and strong emotional well-being. My experience in the entertainment industry with my late ex-husband DMX has allowed us to create programs that inspire young people to grow confidently in today’s financial world, all while building emotional resilience.

My Freedom Project Commitment to Financial Education to Schools in Yonkers

The R.A.R.E. Foundation and My Freedom Project aim to sponsor up to 7,500 students within all 8 high schools in Yonkers, New York, through this initiative. With a minimum donation of $25, both the donor (Protect Yourself) and the student (Educate a Student) will receive a comprehensive financial literacy package valued at $350 each. The package includes:
