ricRACK is a community sewing studio and creative reuse center nonprofit in New Orleans. A place to learn how to sew, create, grow, imagine, re-use, sustain, and succeed.

ricRACK combines creative skill building with environmental responsibility by offering meaningful opportunities to youth and adults to re-use donated clothing, textiles, and craft materials. This mission builds on increased public and industry awareness of sustainability and waste reduction when it comes to making clothing.

$50: provides an instructor for a teen sewing class

$75: diverts 100 lbs of textiles from the landfill

$100: repairs and maintains one sewing machine in our community studio for one year

$500: pays for 12 weeks of our mentorship program; teaching sewing skills to justice involved youth

$1500: provides 12 weeks of sewing instruction for a class full of students in a local school
