Annual meeting of the NC Religious Studies Association, hosted online this year by the Department of Religious Studies at Appalachian State University. Meeting access information will be provided to registrants.
The annual meeting of the NC Religious Studies Association will be held March 5-6, 2021. The annual meeting gives faculty, independent scholars, and students an opportunity to share the results of their research.
For the first time in NCRSA history, the meeting will be hosted online. The Department of Religious Studies at Appalachian State University has graciously agreed to undertake this challenge. Meeting access information will be provided to registrants.
Also new this year, registration will be handled by Givebutter, an online fundraising platform. Givebutter was established in 2016 to provide a low-cost fundraising and registration platform to university student groups. By using this platform, we are able to accept payments online for the first time. You can pay using
One way Givebutter holds down costs is by allowing registrants to tip the vendor (i.e., Givebutter). Tipping adds $1-$2 to your registration fee, and it is optional, but we hope you will opt to tip. We can disable tipping, but then Givebutter charges a higher transaction fee.
If you pay by credit or debit card, there is a processing fee of approximately $0.61. You have the option to add the processing fee to your total. We hope you will choose to pay the processing fee; if not, the Association will cover the cost this year.
The registration fee is the only means of support for the NCRSA. It covers the cost of student presentation awards and miscellaneous meeting expenses. Because we are meeting online, the registration fee has been reduced this year to $10 (Regular ticket type). Undergraduate and graduate Student registration is free. We have added a Family ticket type to encourage the family of student presenters to attend. Family are encouraged but not required to make a small
