One in five people are neurodivergent. Philadelphia has the employers, the educators, the service providers, and the talent to build a genuinely inclusive workforce. What it needs is someone at the center, holding the relationships, making the introductions, and keeping the ecosystem moving forward.

The Neurodiversity Employment Network of Philadelphia has been doing exactly that since 2018. We are the region's only cross-sector connector dedicated entirely to advancing neuroinclusive employment, convening the employers, educators, service providers, and neurodivergent professionals who need to be in the same room, and ensuring that what starts as a conversation becomes a connection, a partnership, or an employment opportunity.

In the first half of 2026 alone:

287 unique individuals and organizations reached. 404 documented follow-up actions taken. 108 cross-sector introductions made between organizations that would not have found each other otherwise. Every number traces back to a documented meeting and a verified follow-up action, because accountability to outcomes is how NENPHL measures its presence in this ecosystem.

NENPHL holds a Candid Gold Seal of Transparency, and in our 2025 stakeholder survey, 100% of respondents said they would recommend NENPHL to others.

How We Create Change

Our Connect and Learn Meetup (CALM) brings neurodivergent job seekers and early career professionals into structured, face-to-face conversation with employers across healthcare, technology, finance, and small business. At our 2026 CALM, every single attendee made at least one new connection, and more than a dozen new introductions were documented in the days that followed, each one a thread in a network that keeps growing.

Retention by Design convenes HR leaders and people operations professionals around the workplace systems that determine whether neurodivergent employees grow within organizations over time, examining communication structures, performance frameworks, flexibility, and access to support in ways that move inclusion from intention into practice.

The Career Innovators Community of Practice, funded by Nemours Children's Health, creates sustained quarterly connection for neurodivergent early career professionals, building the relational confidence and professional fluency that transforms a networking conversation into a career opportunity. Participants receive stipends for their time and expertise, because their lived experience is not incidental to this work, it is central to it.

This September, in partnership with KPMG Philadelphia, Harnessing Innovation brings together business leaders, technologists, and inclusion practitioners to examine how emerging technology can advance inclusive workplace design, a convening that reflects both where this conversation is headed and the kind of cross-sector collaboration NENPHL is uniquely positioned to build.

Alongside our programming, NENPHL continues investing in the digital infrastructure that extends the network's reach between events, including our Neurodiversity Ecosystem Mapping Tool, which gives employers, job seekers, and service providers a live, verified map of Greater Philadelphia's neurodiversity landscape, organized by engagement tier so that every user can see where organizations are and where the opportunities for partnership are forming.

What This Looks Like in Practice

A neurodivergent professional arrives at a NENPHL session without a clear pathway and leaves with introductions, resources, and a concrete plan for next steps. An early career student completes a paid internship embedded in Philadelphia's neurodiversity ecosystem and discovers that the experience opened doors they did not know existed, connected them to a community where they genuinely belong, and shaped the kind of professional they are becoming. Two organizations that would never have crossed paths connect through NENPHL and build something together that neither could have built alone.

These outcomes happen across dozens of meetings every month, and they are the reason this network exists.
