Introducing Phases 2 & 3

The Vision

The North Highland Beautification Project scopes a 10-year vision to enhance the commercial corridor rom Morningside Village to Historic Atkins Park. Once completed, you will find:

Warm white tree lighting year-round
Self-watering hanging baskets and planters in front of every business
In-ground landscapes along the corridor
Protected and landscaped tree beds
Branded light pole banners
Updated trash cans and benches

What We’ve Accomplished So Far: Phase 1

Thanks to your generosity, Phase 1 raised $90,000 in 2024! And we got to work:

Installed warm white tree lighting from Morningside Village to Historic Atkins Park, including Virginia Row (Ash Coffee corner)
Placed large self-watering planters throughout the district
Repainted light poles and added beautifully branded double-sided banners
Refreshed landscaping in the VaHi triangle and Farm Burger courtyard
Launched weekly maintenance and trash pickup to keep all of these improvements looking great

What’s Next: Phase 2

Phase 2 will bring even more beauty and comfort to our corridor:

Lush hanging flower baskets and standing planters along the main street
Freshly repainted crosswalks for improved pedestrian safety
Updated benches

What’s Next: Phase 3

Phase 3 will bring elevated style and sanitation to our corridor:

Iron tree bed protectors
Updated trash cans
