The Lucky Mama Project is a parent-founded 501(c)(3) organization created to foster hope, encouragement, and community for new moms who receive a prenatal or birth diagnosis of Down syndrome for their baby. This project is inspired by my beautiful daughter, Ivy, who has Down syndrome, and by my own journey through a prenatal diagnosis.

I was 14 weeks pregnant when I learned Ivy would likely have Down syndrome. It was a time filled with uncertainty and fear. Fortunately, a local mom reached out and guided me through the emotions, questions, and unknowns that come with this news. Her support changed everything for me—and now I feel called to do the same for others.

At The Lucky Mama Project, we offer prenatal packages for expecting mothers, Celebration Bags filled with gifts for mom and baby after birth, resources, and meaningful connections with other parents who are raising a child with Down syndrome.

Too often, new moms hear “I’m sorry,” when what they truly deserve to hear is “Congratulations!” Our mission is to replace fear with hope, isolation with community, and uncertainty with love. The Lucky Mama Project is here to welcome families into this beautiful community and help them feel supported every step of the way.
