Washington History Day 2025 is in the books, and iTech had a record setting year!

This year we qualified four (4) entries and 12 students for NHD Nationals at the University of Maryland in June!!! I have also been selected as the Washington State High School NHD teacher of the year, and am up for the national award as well.

At the high school level/senior division:

Eli, Cooper, Leah, and Zoey are headed to Nationals 🏆 with their 1st place🥇 finish for their senior team exhibit "Dammed and Displaced: How Industrial Ambition Uprooted Native Spirit." They also earned the Outstanding Entry in Washington State History Award.

Josiah is headed to Nationals 🏆 with his 2nd place🥈 finish for his senior individual exhibit "Sacred Ground, Scientific Bound: Rights and Responsibilities for Lawetlat'la." He also earned the Historic Preservation Award.

Dani, Paulina, and Olivia are headed to Nationals 🏆 with their 2nd place🥈 finish for their senior team performance "Ships, Sparks, and Sexism: How the Kaiser Shipyards Changed the Workforce." They also earned the Naval History Research Award.

At the middle school level/junior division:

Jamin, Vivian, James, and Joehl are headed to Nationals 🏆 with their 2nd place🥈 finish for their junior team exhibit "No Curfew, No Problem: Yasui's Walk That Inspired a Fight for Japanese Rights." This is our FIRST EVER middle school team going to Nationals!!!
