Nature's Palette: Natural Dyes Workshop

Join us at the 4Roots Farm Campus for a hands-on creative Make & Take Workshop, inspired by the colors found right here on the farm!

During this hands-on class, you’ll learn how to transform flowers, herbs, vegetables, and other natural materials into beautiful, plant-based dyes, then use them to personalize your choice of a scrunchie, 4Roots branded tote bag, and more!

We’ll begin with a brief presentation demonstrating how our natural dyes were prepared in advance, giving you a behind-the-scenes look at the process from plant to pigment. Afterward, you’ll dive in yourself: each participant will receive a selection of materials to dye, including a 4Roots tote bag, scrunchie, and socks. Experiment with color, explore different tie-dye techniques, and walk away with your own naturally dyed creations.

Make & Take Workshops are monthly, beginner-friendly, hands-on experiences hosted by the 4Roots Farm team, designed to introduce our community to creative, sustainable DIY crafts inspired by nature. 🌿

Each workshop highlights an accessible, eco-friendly activity: from natural dyeing to botanical art and more, using materials sourced right here on the farm. Open to all ages, these sessions invite guests to learn new skills, explore the beauty of natural resources, and leave with a handmade creation to take home. Please Note: Anyone under 16 must be accompanied by an adult.
