Our priority must be housing people, not endless encampment evictions that cost our city hundreds of thousands of dollars and fill empty lots with concrete rubble. Recovery from substance use and mental health services are most successful when people are in stable housing.

🏠 Nenookaasi Ozhige is building on our existing community to support people recovering from substance use disorder while living in stable housing. With a focus on women and folks who are two-spirit, Nenookaasi Ozhige will start with harm reduction, move into detox and recovery, followed by sober living, and ultimately, independent living.

💰We have the chance to purchase land for Nenookaasi Ozhige to build. Our goal is set high, but we don’t want to be beholden to a bank — we want to own this land outright. This is more than just land. It’s a place for a new beginning, where our relatives can feel safe and supported.
