It's rainy season in Liberia, the season when malaria poses its greatest threat to expectant mothers and newborns. A single mosquito bite can mean miscarriage, premature birth, low birth weight, or worse. For a mother already carrying the weight of pregnancy, a $5 mosquito net can be the difference between a safe delivery and a tragedy.

Grace & Life Maternal Care Unit is a brand new initiative of Kingdom Hub, created to walk with women in Liberia through pregnancy, childbirth, and early motherhood. We don't just want women to have babies, we want mothers and babies to thrive. Before we can build out full prenatal care and postpartum support, we have to protect the mothers already in front of us, right now, through this season.

Why Liberia

Liberia carries one of the highest infant and maternal mortality burdens in the world. As of 2024, Liberia's infant mortality rate stands at roughly 63 deaths per 1,000 live births, meaning about 1 in 16 babies born there do not survive their first year. Maternal mortality tells a similarly urgent story: while Liberia's rate has fallen significantly over the past two decades it remains among the highest in the world.

Malaria is one of the leading preventable threats behind these numbers, especially during rainy season, when mosquito borne illness spikes and expectant mothers are at their most vulnerable. This is the need Grace & Life exists to meet.

That's why our first campaign is simple and urgent: treated mosquito nets.

$100 = 20 nets = a full cohort of expectant mothers covered
