In May 2023, ethnic violence erupted in India’s north-eastern state of Manipur between the Meitei people, a majority that lives in the Imphal Valley, and the Kuki tribal community from the surrounding hills. Kuki Churches and homes were burned. Multiple Kuki women were raped, and many Kuki people were murdered and dismembered.

As a result of this civil unrest, thousands of members of the Kuki tribe have fled for their lives and migrated into relief camps. These camps lack proper medical care, and many people are suffering from a lack of proper medicine and medical attention.

Trustworthy missions in Manipur, started by Christian missionaries decades ago, will manage the project in Jesus’ name. Please pray for justice and peace in Manipur.
