Ours is a climb for hope.

We raise money for promising MS and breast cancer by taking volunteer fundraisers around the world to climb mountains. We've safely gotten over 350 climbers safely to the summits of mountains on 4 continents. And, we've donated $1 million to research.

We've been successful finding novel reserach that needs seed money to gain proof of concept. We get it to them quickly & easily, speeding up the research. Once that happens, they're able to further promising research by getting bigger funders -- DoD, NIH, National Cancer Institute or other large foundations.

This worked with early immunology work with Dr. Leisha Emmens. And, we were able to do it again with Dr. Andrew Ewald where our quick, early donations led to a $35 million grant to for further research cancer metastisis.

We're excited to try a new amazing expedition Mt Olympus in Washington State's gorgous Olympic Pennesula

Dates: July 20-26, 2024

Fundraising Minimum: $3,500

Location: Mt Olympus, Washington State

Difficulty: Difficult. Requires excellent conditioning. We will be using ice axes and crampons and will require low class 5 rock climbing towards the summit. Prior technical glacier and climbing experience mandatory.

Itinerary

DAY 0 JULY 20 – ARRIVE IN SEATTLE. We'll meet at the airport and drive to the Olympic Penninsula drive and camp on the beach.

DAY 1 JULY 21 – TRAILHEAD TO LEWIS MEADOWS Start at the Overnight Parking Lot of the Hoh Rainforest Visitor Center for introductions and a quick gear check. On this first day we cover 10 miles of gradual terrain along the Hoh River, hiking through lush temperate rainforest.

DAY 2 JULY 22 – LEWIS MEADOWS TO GLACIER MEADOWS The Hoh River Trail’s gradual incline becomes a steady ascent, gaining over 3000’ in 7 miles to Glacier Meadows. We arrive in the afternoon and set up camp in the forest along a creek. We review mountaineering skills needed for the climb ahead, make final preparations, and head for bed early.

DAY 3 JULY 23 – SUMMIT DAY ON MT. OLYMPUS With an alpine start, we eat breakfast and set off on the climb. After two days of carrying bigger loads, it’s nice to be moving with lighter packs.

DAY 4 JULY 24 – GLACIER MEADOWS TO LEWIS MEADOWS In the morning we take a scenic walk to the Blue Glacier terminus. With its proximity to the Pacific Ocean, more precipitation falls on this glacier than any other in the lower 48 United States. We pack up our camp and descend to the Olympus Guard Station.

DAY 5 JULY 25– OLYMPUS GUARD TO THE TRAILHEAD We hike out the remaining 9 miles along the Hoh River, arriving back at the parking lot by early afternoon. Drive back to Seattle to overnight.

DAY 6 July 26 - Departure
