My Promise to You

On behalf of the Board of Directors and our dedicated staff, I write to thank our generous supporters and partners as our Museum Month campaign comes to a close. During my short time as executive director, I have been immersed in the energy and creativity of our local community and remain excited about the Hellenic Museum’s future. This past month saw Detroit's Cultural Center bursting with arts, culture, and celebration and it was a fitting collective tribute as National Arts & Humanities Month in the United States comes to a close.

The Hellenic Museum represents both a place and a promise in our community. It is a place located in the heart of Detroit’s Cultural Center, where twelve landmark institutions come together to form the highest concentration of cultural destinations in the country, all within nine walkable blocks. And it’s a promise, from a group of community and spiritual leaders who once dared to dream of a legacy that honors the memory of the people, lessons, and sacrifices that shape the contours of our collective identity.

We're growing something here at the Hellenic Museum. And my promise to you is to honor its legacy through meaningful programs and exhibits that celebrate our diaspora’s deep memory and cultural heritage, while also positioning the Museum as a collaborative partner within the Cultural Center.
