What is the concept of “Our Great Big Flag” (OGBF)? It is a big flag, just not the biggest; and will take many people to do everything necessary to get OGBF in the air safely. OGBF’s purpose is to bring people together from all walks of life, as it will take many hands to give flying an American flag of this size the respect that it is due.

OGBF serves many roles. One is to allow our volunteers to honor the past by adding a person’s name to the white border on the trailing edge of OGBF, and they can then add their own name to the training flag (plain white flag). Another role is to instill pride back into our country “despite its short comings.” Flying OGBF would instill no more or no less pride than the small American flag waving in a child’s hand at the local parade.

Because OGBF is so big, the hope is to be able to fly out of several airports in our area. OGBF will not be a “fly on special events only” type of flag, it will be flown as often as practicable within the guidelines of the FAA.

SO, the only real difference between the flag on your front porch and Our Great Big Flag is that our front porch is just a bit bigger.

Supporters also have the opportunity to have their name and or their honoree's name added to the respective flag by replying to OGBFs thank you reply.

A few notes to OGBFs supporters: there are fees (although minimal) required for all fund raising, they can be lumped in your donation or added to your donation, either option is very much appreciated. Why a $1 donation? I want the child who breaks open their piggy bank have to same impact as larger donations.
