In the midst of ongoing crisis in Haiti—marked by political instability, violence, and economic collapse—some of the most vulnerable have been children with disabilities who have nowhere else to turn.

In 2024, 58 Haitian children, many physically and mentally challenged, were urgently relocated to safety in Jamaica through the care of Mustard Seed Communities. Many arrived malnourished, in fragile health, and in need of immediate, consistent care.

Today, these children are living in a safe, supportive environment where they are surrounded by caregivers, community, and dignity. They receive daily meals, medical attention, and the stability they were once denied.

But this life-saving transition came with a challenge.

The arrival of these children increased the orphanage’s population by nearly 50% overnight. Resources have been stretched, and critical funding that was expected has not been fully realized.
