I recently adopted my best friend, Luna, a 1 year old Golden Retriever. Luna is always there to greet me when I get home, wagging her tail and happy to see me. When I have had a tough day or am dealing with anxiety she makes me laugh and will rest her head on my chest. I couldn't imagine not having her in my life. So, when Luna got sick and I had to take her to the vet I was scared and worried about her. Her vet bills cost over $500. This was an unplanned expense. Would I have not been able to pay for her care I would have felt an incredible amount of stress, anxiety and Luna could have suffered. Thankfully I am privledged enough to have the resources to afford her care.
Unfortunately, this is not the case for many people. A surprise vet visit or even wellness care can be difficult for people living at or below the poverty guidelines. So I ask you today to make a gift to provide access to veterinary care to people and pets who need it most. Any amount will help! Thank you for your generosity.
