Operation Backpack is more than just a back-to-school event—it’s a celebration of community, faith, and a fresh start for hundreds of youth and their families in Montgomery County and the Greater Houston Area.

At the heart of the event are our incredible volunteers who take time to pray with each child, speaking encouragement and truth into their lives before they take that next step into a new school year.

One of the most moving moments is the foot-washing station, where children are gently served and shown dignity as they receive brand-new socks and shoes—a powerful reminder that they are seen and loved.

Our photo wall brings big smiles as kids pose with their friends and families, capturing a joyful memory from a day that’s all about them.

There’s plenty of fun, too—like cotton candy treats and family-friendly activities that add to the joy and energy of the day.

Each child leaves with a brand-new backpack loaded with supplies, setting them up for a successful school year—and giving families a break from the financial burden that often comes with back-to-school shopping.
