Hi, I'm Rob. I've been in the Air National Guard for over 25 years, and have struggled with PTSD since 2016. I've made three attempts at my life. The first, and most notable to me, was in September of 2016.
I have found my path to healing, it's been a long road and I'm still traveling it. I may not have survived if it wasn't for veteran organizations and the veteran community. This is what brought me to join the 50 Mile March. So what is my why, my motivation to raise money and cause myself pain and suffering?
- I raise money to help veterans like me who have struggled.
- I train to build resilience and remember I can overcome.
- I march the 50 to punish myself for almost causing irrevocable pain to those I love.
Last year was my first year. Crossing that finish line was liberating and patched up a few emotional holes. I look forward to doing it again and getting to 100 miles.
Your support while I am on this journey is so greatly appreciated and I am truly thankful. Let's help take 22 a day down to ZERO!
