The Legacy Lives On

Sometimes, the most meaningful rescue stories begin in the most unexpected ways.

A few weeks ago, Robin's Nest Rescue received a voicemail intended for another rescue hundreds of miles away. After a few conversations, we learned about a family in Northern California facing an incredibly difficult season of life. With mounting caregiving responsibilities, health challenges, and financial hardship, they made the heartbreaking decision to find a new home for the miniature horses they have loved for decades.

Those horses are Tyke, a 27-year-old retired champion and gentle teacher, and his son, Rodeo. For years, they brought joy to children through riding lessons, pony parties, educational programs, and countless family memories. Now, they have the opportunity to begin a new chapter at Robin's Nest Rescue, where they will continue their life's work—bringing comfort, confidence, and connection to children, veterans, individuals with disabilities, and others who participate in our Side by Side experiences.

On July 27, we'll travel nearly 500 miles to bring Tyke and Rodeo home. There is also the possibility of welcoming Classy, another beloved miniature horse from the same family, if the timing and circumstances allow.

Your support will help make this rescue possible by covering transportation, veterinary evaluations, vaccinations, farrier care, feed, shelter, and everything these incredible horses need as they settle into their forever sanctuary.

This isn't just about rescuing horses.
