Support Single Mothers in Central Alabama | The Osborne Foundation

"Why Give"

Every day, single mothers in Birmingham and surrounding communities navigate legal uncertainty, educational barriers, housing concerns, and family instability—often while raising children alone.

The Osborne Foundation exists to walk beside them.

We do not provide one-size-fits-all answers. Instead, we connect mothers with information, resources, advocacy, and pathways to stability through four core commitments:

Protect — justice-related information, Know Your Rights education, and careful referrals when legal challenges affect housing, safety, or family.
Educate — scholarship support, GED and credential pathways, trade education, and help navigating higher-education opportunities.
Restore — family-centered resources, conflict-resolution support, and community connections that help families rebuild stability.
Empower — the long-term confidence and capacity that comes from knowing someone is in your corner.

We serve mothers in Birmingham, Jefferson County, and surrounding Central Alabama communities.
