Help Us Build a Safer Home for Our Ostrich!

At Peggy's Peacock Palace & A Chance for Life Farm Animal Sanctuary, the safety of our animals matters—but so does the safety of the people who live here, work here, volunteer, and come to visit.

One of our biggest safety concerns is our ostrich. Ostriches are incredibly powerful animals, and they can cause serious injuries. Unfortunately, our existing fencing isn't strong enough to provide the security this situation requires.

This isn't a job for flimsy T-posts or ordinary fence posts. An ostrich can hit with enough force to snap even a substantial 5½-inch wooden post. We learned firsthand that we needed a much stronger solution.

We began upgrading the fence using substantial wooden posts, but for the remaining sections, we're using heavy-duty reclaimed telephone poles to provide the strength and durability this project demands.

Now we need help finishing the job.

As a small, privately supported animal sanctuary, we have to stretch every dollar as far as possible. The materials, supplies, and labor needed for this project add up quickly, but we can't put off important safety improvements.

There are several ways you can help!

Donate toward materials and supplies. Every financial contribution helps us purchase the fencing and other supplies needed to complete the project.
Donate materials or equipment. Have usable fencing materials, heavy-duty posts, or other supplies that could help with this project? We'd love to hear from you! Donations of useful materials can reduce our costs and help us get the job done.
Volunteer your time and skills. If you have experience with fencing, construction, equipment operation, or other useful hands-on work, your help could be invaluable. If you'd like to volunteer, please reach out so we can discuss the work involved and how you might help safely.
Share our fundraiser. Even if you can't donate or volunteer, sharing our story can connect us with someone who can.

Every contribution—whether it's money, materials, equipment, skilled labor, or simply spreading the word—brings us closer to completing this important safety improvement.

Our animals depend on us to provide for their needs. The people who live, work, volunteer, and visit our sanctuary deserve a safe environment, too.

Will you help us finish the fence?

Please donate, offer materials or volunteer assistance, or share our fundraiser with others who care about animal sanctuaries and the people who make them possible.

Thank you for standing with us and the animals who call our sanctuary home!
