Welcome To Ann Arbor, Coach May!

On March 23rd, 2024, The University of Michigan hired Dusty May as our next head basketball coach. Make no mistake: this hire is an absolute coup by Michigan--he was the hottest name on the college basketball market, and he chose Michigan.

Check out what some of our rivals and the media are saying. Jody Demling of 24/7 Sports said, “Dusty May will take the job at Michigan. Kinda floored. Louisville felt very good until 20 minutes ago.” Meanwhile, Indiana isn’t too happy either--Coach May started out his career at Indiana with Bob Knight and has a deep understanding of the Big Ten. He was described by ESPN recently as a potential future Indiana coach. He was also linked to the Ohio State job when it came open.

Coach May is best known for taking mid-major FAU to their first Final Four in school history last year, as well as a top ten ranking and another NCAA tournament appearance this season.

We couldn’t be more excited to welcome Coach May and his family to Michigan. Now the real work begins. Today we are launching the “March with May” campaign—here to support the Michigan basketball student-athletes and our new coach.

Michigan is the greatest University in the world. We now have one of the sharpest coaches in the college game. In order to get Michigan back to being a top ten team every single year, we have to give our new coach the resources the program needs.
