7th Fire Jiimaan Journey 2026

Greetings, Relatives!

You are invited to join in support of an epic cultural and spiritual journey. 

Anishinaabe people and their allies will travel by land and water to retrace the historic  Migration from the East Coast to the Great Lakes over a series of summers, from 2026 to 2028. 

Launching on the summer solstice in June 2026, we will travel up the St. Lawrence River toward Niagara Falls.  The 7th Fire Jiimaan Journey, will continue over several summers, culminating in a celebration at the last stopping point of the Great Migration: Mooningwanekaaning Minis, or Madeline Island (Lake Superior) in 2028. 

As the people of the 7th Fire, we are responding to the call of the Prophecy to go back along the trail, to seek what our Ancestors have left for us to find.
