Warpaint's journey began as a digital platform, spotlighting the vibrant and already existent presence of racially marginalized individuals in outdoor action sports. Our mission was simple yet powerful: to showcase that people of color were actively engaged in these pursuits. Over time, our vision expanded as we organized and led numerous BIPOC rides and clinics, culminating in the establishment of Warpaint Outdoors as a non-profit entity.

As we embark on our inaugural year as a non-profit in 2024, our focus remains steadfast on the growth of our magazine, with an exciting leap into our first print issue. Concurrently, we're dedicated to fostering inclusive spaces within the mountain biking community through a spectrum of initiatives, including group rides tailored for BIPOC individuals and comprehensive educational programs covering bike safety, skills enhancement, maintenance, and even trail construction and upkeep courses.

Our recent collaboration with the Navajo Nation marked a significant milestone in our journey, amplifying our commitment to bridging communities and creating opportunities for youth engagement. In 2024, we're set to break new ground by spearheading the development of Oregon's inaugural BIPOC-designed and constructed mountain bike trail. Moreover, our efforts to forge deeper connections with Indigenous communities in the Portland area are ongoing, bolstered by initiatives aimed at facilitating access to bikes and outdoor experiences for young individuals.

Looking ahead, 2024 promises a rich tapestry of events, from expanded bike clinics to the unveiling of more trails and the amplification of diverse narratives within the BIPOC community. Catch us at Sea Otter and Rezduro this year, as we continue to champion inclusivity and empowerment in outdoor sports. But to achieve these ambitious goals, we need your support—whether through donations of bikes or assistance with transportation, every contribution counts in propelling our mission forward.

With the recent approval of our status as an official 501c3 non-profit organization, we now have administrative and overhead costs associated with doing business. Everything from insurance and travel, digital platforms and bookkeeping, to tool and equipment maintenance. Every donation helps us move forward with our mission.
