Food Art Portrait: Let’s play with our food today! Using ingredients from your kitchen shape a face on a plate. If your pantry is bare feel free to supplement with any other items in your kitchen like paper towels, dish soap, coffee grounds, etc. Take a picture of your final product and share on your team page/social to enter the daily raffle! 1. I’m always running but never walk. Sometimes I can sing, but I never talk. I have hands, I have a face. You use me to decide your pace.
Inspirational Quote Art: Find a favorite passage, line, or quote from a beloved book or from someone that you admire. Recreate this quote in a creative way (cut out words from a magazine or newspaper and create a collage, paint the words, write them down). Share your creation on your team page/social to enter the daily raffle!
Abstract Sounds Project: Find a space that you can sit or stand comfortably for one minute. Close your eyes and pay attention to what you can hear. Pick out three distinct noises that you hear: What would those sounds look like to you if they were visible? Daily Scavenger Hunt: Solve the following three riddles. Take a picture or selfie with the item and post on your page.
1. Everyone loves me. I’m pretty and sweet. Look outside and you will find me at your feet.
2. Pull me back in the morning, spread me out at night. I might not keep you warm, but my purpose is for sight. Let the morning light in by pulling me back tight.
3. No morning routine is complete without me. Pick me up and then you’ll see. If you leave without our session, you’ll spend the day worrying about your breath and impression.
Nature Frame: Using cardboard or paper, draw a simple shape or picture. Cut out the shape or picture to make a frame. Now take your frame on your walk and try and capture some cool images with nature as your main subject and post to your page. Examples are below.
Landscape Painting with Coffee and/or tea: In a cup of shallow hot water steep some tea or mix some coffee grinds to create your paint. If you would like different hues repeat this step with several other cups noting that the more water you add the lighter the hue of the paint. Now grab a brush and get to work painting a landscape that makes you happy. It can be something you see on your daily walks or your favorite place to visit. Take a picture when you are done and add it to your page. Don’t have a brush? Try using a q-tip, leaf, flower petal, a twig, and straw, or even a paper towel! Examples are below.

2. People knock on me to say hello, but you lock me up before you go.
3. Is it ready? One way to know. Pop my lid to let it show. Watch the handle. Might be hot! Off the flame. I am not a pot!
Nature Haiku: A haiku is a short poem consisting of three lines. The first line contains five syllables, the second line contains seven syllables and the third line contains five syllables. To learn more about Haikus click here. On your walk today take a picture of something that inspires you. Write a haiku about that item and post both to your page.
Painted Brain Logo Challenge: Use pens, pencils, markers, chalk, paints, collage materials, crayons, or anything else around your house to recreate the Painted Brain logo on a piece of paper. Be as creative or abstract as you want! Post a picture of your logo to your page.

Welcome to the First Ever Painted Brain Art Crawl Challenge!!

Let's walk 14 miles, get creative, and raise $10,000 for mental health recovery!!

THE CHALLENGE:

Pledge to walk 14 miles and complete daily interactive artistic challenges over a seven-day period, and invite your friends and family to donate on your behalf!

Starting Monday, November 16th the Painted Brain Art Crawl Challenge event page will post new and exciting scavenger hunts, art projects, walking tips, and interactive endeavors daily! These will all be activities you can do safely around your home and neighborhood with objects easily accessible around your house!

Be sure to document your week by recording videos, taking photos, and sharing them on your team page as there will be chances to win prizes every day!

THE GOAL:

Together, raise $10,000 for mental health recovery!!

All proceeds from the Art Crawl Challenge benefit Painted Brain in continuing our efforts of creating community-based solutions to mental health challenges and the impact of social justice through arts, advocacy, and enterprise.

Why 14 miles??? Because every dollar raised during the art crawl challenge produces $14 worth of good for the community and people recovering from mental illness.

That means...when we reach our goal of $10,000, we will do $140,000 worth of good!!

HOW TO GET STARTED:

When Signing up for a Virtual Event, YOU AGREE to the following terms;

I know that walking in an event that is organized as a virtual activity where I walk on my own, at a date and time of my choosing, in a location and route of my choosing is a potentially hazardous activity, which could result in injury or death. I acknowledge that I am participating in the activity outlined by this virtual event by my own free will and at my own personal risk. I will not participate in a virtual event unless I am medically able and properly trained. I further agree to abide by the Center for Disease Control (CDC)'s recommendations for the prevention of the spread of COVID-19 and attest to having read the CDC's guidance at: https://www.cdc.gov/coronavirus/2019-ncov/prepare/prevention.html. I assume all risks to me associated with running on my own as part of this virtual activity, including but not limited to: falls, contact with other pedestrians, the effects of the weather, including high heat and/or humidity, traffic and the conditions of the road or trail, all such risks being known or unknown and appreciated by me when out running on my own without any type of support from local officials or event organizers.
