Leadership Paulding, in partnership with Paulding Public Safety Appreciation (PPSA), is proud to announce the launch of a community fundraising campaign to construct a new K-9 training facility for the Paulding County Sheriff's Office.

The project, selected as Leadership Paulding’s 2026 class initiative, aims to raise approximately $8,000 to fund the construction of a secure and dedicated training space for the Sheriff’s Office K-9 Unit. The facility will be located at the Sheriff’s Office’s existing training property.

The proposed facility will include:

Professional obstacle course equipment
Secure perimeter fencing
Training props and structures
Dedicated space for skill development and scenario-based exercises

The idea for the facility was presented by a member of the Leadership Paulding Team, who recognized the need for an enhanced training environment to ensure K-9 teams remain mission-ready.

K-9 units serve a critical role in public safety operations, assisting with suspect tracking, narcotics detection, evidence recovery, and officer safety initiatives throughout Paulding County. A designated training facility will provide a safe and controlled environment for continuous skill development.

“This project is about investing in the safety and effectiveness of our K-9 teams and the deputies who work alongside them,” said representatives from Leadership Paulding. “With community support, we can build a lasting resource that benefits public safety for years to come.”

PPSA will assist in coordinating fundraising efforts and community engagement to help meet the campaign’s financial goal. Local businesses and community members are encouraged to contribute through monetary donations, sponsorship opportunities, or material contributions.

Paulding Public Safety Appreciation, Inc. (PPSA) is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that was created to assist public safety employees in times of need. Whether it is for themselves or their immediate family, PPSA can step in to assist when traditional forms are not available or sufficient.

To be eligible for benefits, individuals just need to live OR work inside Paulding County but must work in the realm of public safety - Law Enforcement, Firefighters, EMS, 911 Dispatch, Animal Control, the Solicitor's Office & the District Attorney's Office.

The assistance from PPSA is used to help with tangible expenses like medical bills, utility bills, mortgage payments, vehicle repairs, hospice and funeral expenses.

In 2024, PPSA has provided over $25,000 in assistance to Public Safety families.
