Join Cherished Mom in our efforts to address the most severe of perinatal mood disorders, perinatal psychosis, on our 5th annual PPP (Pregnancy & Postpartum Psychosis) Awareness Day on Friday, May 2, 2025.

Pregnancy and Postpartum Psychosis (PPP), also known as postpartum psychosis, is a serious mental health condition that occurs in approximately 1 to 2 of every 1,000 deliveries. This condition is characterized by a rapid onset of severe mental health symptoms, including hallucinations, delusions, extreme mood swings, and confusion. Individuals and healthcare providers must recognize the early warning signs of PPP, seek prompt medical attention, and provide comprehensive support to ensure the well-being of affected individuals and their families as there is a 5% suicide rate and 4% infanticide rate associated with psychosis.

Cherished Mom was founded by a PPP survivor to raise awareness, educate individuals and healthcare providers, and prevent tragedies from this terrible illness. As a small nonprofit, your donation will make a meaningful difference in the services we can provide.

Below are just a few examples of what your donation can support:

$25 can support costs associated with Pregnancy and Postpartum Psychosis Awareness Day.
$50 can sponsor a butterfly memorial release for one mother who died by suicide.
$100 can support the "Is MOM Ok?" Campaign to raise awareness of maternal mental health and suicide prevention.
$250 can provide a postpartum doula for one new mom.
$500 can send one PPP survivor-advocate to a national maternal mental health conference.
