It has been quite a year. Under such conditions, we are forced to see what it is that is most meaningful to us, what uplifts us, what connects us, and what vitalizes us. What Manly P. Hall referred to as the "conceptions, ideals, and principles" that bring thought into action, and sustain us through practical application in times of trouble. The truths we have learned from experience.

While these times are difficult, it has been inspiring to see PRS continue to be a sanctuary and a haven for thinkers, artists, and seekers. We have all found a home here, a place to forge and strengthen community and to find support. That we can offer this service is a gift unto itself.

PRS has miraculously survived for more than 90 years due to each and every one of you and your continued support. Thank you for becoming members, thank you for attending screenings, workshops, lectures and art openings and for spreading the word about our events. Thank you for donating, for shopping in our bookstore and ordering from our website. Thank you for signing up for online talks and courses, so the community of PRS can take root outside of Los Angeles.

This fundraising season we are looking to raise enough funds to help maintain our buildings and to support public hours in the library and our programs throughout the end of the year and for the beginning of 2026.

We labor to save a vital space where thought and expression are free to flourish. We do not take this for granted and are honored to be part of a community that continues to labor in love despite all that seems built to destroy such endeavors. This is something very worthy of preservation.
