Peter Stathas Dance invites the community to a free open rehearsal of Legacy & Reinvention on Thursday, November 6, from 5–7 PM at the Baryshnikov Arts Center. Guests will gain rare behind-the-scenes access to works-in-progress as choreographer Peter Stathas and guest artist Marta Renzi revisit and reimagine dances first created in 1983.

The evening offers a unique opportunity to witness the past and present collide as two landmark works are reconstructed and reinvented for today’s audiences:

What Practice Makes – Marta Renzi
Originally choreographed in 1983 with Renzi’s “Project Company,” this quartet will be brought back to life with the dancers of Peter Stathas Dance. Renzi now adds a perspective of 40 years in the field, layering memory with discovery.
Trio – Peter Stathas
Commissioned by the Boston Dance Project in 1983, this piece explores familial relationships and the interplay between athleticism and humanity that continues to define Stathas’ work.
