Paces for Paces

Paces for Paces is a rare opportunity to support our national parks. The idea is a community 25-kilometer (15.5 miles) relay race between two teams. These two teams will run a mile at a time, passing a baton each mile, and compete to win the first-ever Paces for Paces Challenge on November 7.

Why the name? Well, Paces for refers to both running and Paces Mill. Paces Mill is located within the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area. Paces for Paces aims to raise funds for Phase Two of New Day Palisades, which will break ground in early 2027. The $15.8 million project is a collaboration by the Cumberland Community Improvement District, One Cumberland, and the National Park Service to renew Paces Mill along the Chattahoochee River within the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area.

Led by team captains Stephen Gentry (Team New Day Speed) and Andrew Walker (Team Palisades Panthers), Paces for Paces will serve as a live fundraising push and public awareness campaign to drive community awareness and support for the renewal project.
