The Wall of Hope is designed to educate as well as inspire.

Throughout the exhibit, visitors will learn about:

The warning signs of abuse
The many forms domestic violence can take
Dating violence and how it affects young people
Resources available through SAFE and the Louisiana Coalition Against Domestic Violence (LCADV)
Ways to safely support someone experiencing abuse

Why Hope Matters

Leaving an abusive relationship is one of the most courageous decisions a person can make—but it is rarely the end of the journey.

For many survivors, leaving means starting over with little more than the hope of a safer future. They may be searching for a safe place to stay, rebuilding their finances, navigating the legal system, finding employment, enrolling children in new schools, or simply trying to heal from the emotional impact of abuse.

Many survivors also carry something less visible: isolation.

Abusive relationships often involve tactics that separate individuals from their family, friends, coworkers, faith communities, and support systems. Survivors may feel alone, ashamed, or uncertain about where to turn. They may believe no one will understand or that no one will believe them.

That is why SAFE exists.

Our advocates meet survivors where they are—with compassion, resources, and the support they need to begin rebuilding their lives.

That is also why the Wall of Hope matters.
