Who are we?

What is FIRST and why does it matter?

The LHS Steel Stingers are proud participants in the FIRST Robotics Competition, a global program that combines the excitement of sports with the rigors of science and technology. In this high-energy competition, teams design, build, wire, and program industrial-grade robots to compete in short, action-packed matches. Each robot is entirely student-created within an intense six-week build season...yes, we only have six weeks to build an entire robot! This challenges teams to innovate, collaborate, and excel under tight deadlines. FIRST inspires young innovators to dream big and prepares them for future careers in STEM.

What's our mission?

We started our robotics program with the goal of bringing STEM to our community. Our vision is to ignite curiosity, foster creativity, and cultivate a passion for Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics among people of all ages and backgrounds. Through hands-on learning experiences, collaborative projects, and innovative problem-solving, we aim to empower individuals. We aspire to inspire the next generation of innovators, engineers, and leaders who will shape the future of our community and beyond. Together, we're building a brighter tomorrow—one robot at a time.
