Meet Porter, an 8-month-old mini Goldendoodle who desperately needs our help. This sweet, loving puppy was surrendered to the shelter with two severely fractured front legs after a tragic accident. We received an urgent call from our local shelter, pleading for help. Porter was in agonizing pain, unable to walk, and facing a grim future. His injuries are severe—bilateral displaced distal radius/ulna fractures—and without immediate surgery, he won’t survive. Unfortunately, the shelter did not have the resources to provide the emergency care he required and were going to euthize him if not rescued.
We couldn’t stand by and do nothing. Porter was rushed to Sherman Oaks Vet, where specialists determined he needed immediate surgery to repair his broken legs. The estimated cost of his lifesaving procedure and overnight care is $12,000, an amount that stretches us to our limits.
