Pre-K Days at 4Roots Farm

Presented by Nemours Children's Health

Give your little one the chance to learn, play, and experience adventures in agriculture with 4Roots Pre-K Days, a monthly program designed just for preschool-aged children (ages 3–5) and their caregivers!

In partnership with Nemours Children's Health, this series introduces children and families to agricultural and nutrition concepts through sensory-rich, play-based experiences that spark curiosity about food, farming, and the environment.

Each Session Features

📖 Storytime: A thoughtfully chosen picture book connected to the month’s theme

🥕 Snack: A wholesome, theme-inspired treat

🎨 Activity: A guided craft or hands-on activity that encourages creativity, fine motor skills, and discovery

By blending reading, food, and nature-based play, children and caregivers can enjoy meaningful time together while building early learning skills.

This Month's Theme: Trees 🌲

Join us for a tree-riffic celebration of the plants that make December so festive: trees!

We’ll explore how trees grow in unique and wonderful ways as we read The Tree That’s Meant to Be by Yuval Zommer. Then, we’ll decorate pre-foraged pinecones to take home as festive decor.

To top it off, we’ll enjoy a tasty treat made with one of trees’ sweetest gifts: maple syrup! We’ll make a maple syrup–sweetened yogurt dip served with red and green apple slices for dipping.
