We’ve Reached New Heights—Let’s Go Even Further!

Thanks to your incredible support, we first met our LGBTQ+ History Month goal of raising $2,500, which was matched by The Lenny Zakim Fund to bring us to $5,000. Then, with your continued generosity, we surpassed our next goal of $10,000—raising an astounding $11,500 on fundraising alone!

Now, as we approach the end of 2024, we’re aiming even higher with a final stretch goal of $15,000. Together, we can make an even greater impact for our LGBTQ+ community.

At The History Project, we’re preserving history one story at a time—from archiving over 250 collections to honoring LGBTQ+ trailblazers and creating free programs exploring our vibrant and diverse community. Your support helps celebrate our community’s stories 365 days a year.

As we near the end of 2024, we're setting ambitious goals for 2025:

Expand LGBTQ+ historical materials available digitally by 25%
Modernize our finding aids for easier community and researcher access
Conduct 10 new oral history interviews with LGBTQ+ elders and activists
Increase transgender representation in the archives.

$150 transcribes an oral history interview, ensuring the stories of LGBTQ+ elders and activists are accessible for research and education
$500 prints a pop-up educational exhibit, bringing LGBTQ+ history to life at community events, schools, and libraries
$1,000 supports an archives graduate student over the course of a semester, enabling us to digitize and share hundreds of LGBTQ+ historical materials with the community.
