Prince Izzy's Story

In December 2025, a NYC-based family fell in love with a street dog in Izamal, a small town in Mexico. They dubbed him Prince Izzy.

They couldn't stop thinking about him after they got back, and reached out to AriGato Rescue in Izamal who tracked him down, took him to the vet, and got him the care he needed.

AriGato found our rescue organization, Street Dog Love, and together we helped arrange Prince Izzy's transport back to the US.

By working together to rescue Prince Izzy, we realized we could team up to help more dogs and cats in Izamal. So next month we will be hosting a health clinic to spay and neuter 200 strays. In honor of Prince Izzy, his family will be matching up to $1,000 to support the clinic.

That's where you come in!

Prince Izzy’s story has a happy ending, but most street dogs aren't living in a fairy tale. Please consider helping by donating to the clinic.

Can you be a fairy godparent to a street pup?
