Ten years ago, I heard the words no man wants to hear:

You have prostate cancer.

I was fortunate. I was paying attention to my health. I knew my PSA numbers. And when something changed, I took action.

But in the years since my diagnosis, I've met too many men who didn't. Some were afraid of what they might find out. Some didn't know their risk. Some didn't have access to the information or resources they needed. And some simply kept saying, I'll get to it.

That's a big part of why I co-founded Prostate Health Matters.

And it's why I'm getting on my bike.

September is Prostate Cancer Awareness Month, and I can't think of a better time to turn awareness into action — for myself and for the men we're working every day to reach.

250 Miles. One Mission.

Cycling has been a passion of mine for years — long before prostate cancer became part of my story. So it seemed fitting to take something I love and use it to support the work that has become my life's mission.

Beginning September 10, I'm challenging myself to ride 250 miles in about 30 days to raise money for Prostate Health Matters.

I'm calling it Pushing Pedals for PSAs: 250 Miles for Men's Health. My goal is to raise $10,000.

Since 2020, PHM has reached more than 5,000 men and their families through community events, education and outreach, and we've helped facilitate hundreds of PSA screenings across five states.

But there are still more men to reach.

Your support will help us expand prostate health education, early-detection and screening outreach, community workshops, and resources for men and their families.

It will also help us address something I understand personally: fear. Fear can keep a man from getting tested. But delaying the answer doesn't change it. We want to help more men move from fear, silence and delay to information and action.

I'll share my progress along the way until I hit 250 miles.
