The evening's celebratory program will honor the graduating 2022 Fellows of Queer|Art|Mentorship and occasion the ceremony for awarding the Pamela Sneed Award for Black Artists and Organizers, as well as the Queer|Art|Prize in Recent Work and Sustained Achievement.

Hosted by activist/drag artist Junior Mintt, the Annual Party will include a community celebration celebrating a love for all things queer. Keep reading to learn more about the night's esteemed awardees and exciting program, and stay tuned for more details in the coming weeks!

AWARDS CEREMONY

Developed by QA’s Black LGBTQ+ Artists Group (BlaQ), the Pamela Sneed Award for Black Queer|Art|Mentorship Artists and Organizers is an annual $10,000 award that acknowledges Black QAM artists who uphold guiding principles like intergenerational exchange, collective care, creative resilience, preservation of Black queer legacies, and an engagement with grassroots organizing within their creative practice and beyond. The 2022 winner is writer, educator, and activist Alexis De Veaux.

The Queer|Art|Prize in the area of Sustained Achievement is an annual $10,000 award presented to a US-based LGBTQ+ artist who has enacted considerable cultural impact and demonstrated ongoing dedication to their community over the course of their life and career to date. Orator and community leader Wendi Moore-O’Neal is the 2022 winner.

The Queer|Art|Prize in the area of Recent Work is an annual $10,000 award presented to a US-based LGBTQ+ artist who has premiered, exhibited, published, or publicly circulated a project of serious significance within the last year. Stefa marin alarcon, Uhuru Moor, Marie Amegah, and Grace Rosario Perkins have been recognized as the 2022 finalists—the winner will be announced live at the Annual Party!

The Annual Party will mark the end of the 2022 Queer|Art|Mentorship program cycle, which supports a year-long exchange between emerging and established artists in four creative fields: Film, Literature, Performance, and Visual Art. Join us on November 10th as we recognize the 2022 Fellows' achievements and formative time together
