QAM Fam Cảm ơn!

Leo here - about a week ago my dear friend Hsien from UK forward me a post, the same one you saw in this cover page. My heart sunk after reading it and so did our QAM team's.

Within 10 hours, we connected with A Queer Museum (what a lovely name.), shared our experience with relocation and digitalization of rare community archive. And prepared to send over $1000 emergency fund.

This is the forth time I have done this in the last 3 years, the very fact of we have an SOP for this SHELTER (Space & Heritage Emergency: Logistics, Transfer, Evacuation & Reimagination) situation and have to use it every year itself says something.

So the next morning, QAM decided to go to Hanoi. Filming, 3D scan, rebuild a digital archiving system to access while they recover. 3 days to get Visa approved and active our Viet Nam connections, 2 day to get all the vaccines and finalizing the logistic. Here comes 9/18. Today. I am ready to go to Hanoi for some bittersweet work.

I would again like to invite you together with this journey:

Donate here or to the original GoFundMe by the Frankfurt filmmaker Hong Anh Nguyen gofund.me/2f0b45325;
Share the post with your queer friend, especially those have been to Viet Nam.
or if you are in Great Tampa Area, sign up to volunteer a couple of hours in Queer Asian Museum so we don't have to pay part-timers.

$2000 will be used to

Cover the pay-timer back in QAM HQ while Leo is gone;
Rent digitization spaces and devices;
Cleaning and shipment fee.

Anything we received more than this amount , we will hand them and A Queer Museum directly if before 10/15 or start a fund for future Viet Nam project after that

Cảm ơn! Game on!
