Fellowship...

All students start their CTG journey by participating in a summer fellowship program. They complete their own social impact project in their community, grow career-related skills in workshops, and connect with a mentor every week.

In the summer of 2023, 36 fellows spent four months growing their skills and confidence through project-based learning and community service.

The result:

Leadership Program...

Returning alumni aspire to support current students as cohort leaders who guide 4 to 6 students through the summer program. Their familiarity with the program enhances their leadership abilities to anticipate and address student challenges. An environment with cohort leaders and students of similar ages creates a comfortable space for mutual growth.

As responsibilities are put on their shoulders, our cohort leaders learn leadership, organization, conflict resolution, and professionalism.

Future...

Most of our alumni use the skills gained in their CTG experiences to further their futures. They have more professional skills and connections that put them ahead of the game in networking and professional development.

About Close the Gap

Close the Gap Foundation is a 501(c)3 non-profit based in San Francisco. We believe every student deserves the opportunity to succeed and reach their fullest potential regardless of their economic upbringing.

Through our social impact fellowship every summer, we provide students opportunities to lead social impact projects of their choosing by matching them with young professional mentors who have lived/shared experiences. We also aim to support the summer projects through structured curriculum mentoring sessions on topics including, but not limited to, resilience and resume building.
