Queermunity is a new small business committed to bringing the LGBTQ+ community together in Minneapolis. We have a cafe and free lounge, as well as reservable small and large meeting room rental and community-led programming. We offer discounted services and event rental through individual or group memberships that are open to families, community organizations, nonprofits, and businesses.

Over the last few years, we’ve been securing small business loans and grants and preparing to open Queermunity. We made major headway in 2024 and chose the Bryant Building, as our home. After countless focus groups, panels, community surveys, and more, our team has a wealth of info on how to make Queermunity thrive. We're excited that Queermunity is up and running as of fall 2024 for the community to gather, eat and start connecting.

Why Queermunity?

We need more places where we can just hang out together. That's why we started Queermunity – because we wanted a Queer-owned place where we could meet up and feel less alone.

Having a place where we can have fun, work together, and build a community opens up so many possibilities. We want to create more chances for us to connect in a space that welcomes all of us in the Queer and Trans community. That's why we're doing this. So, if you'd like to be a part of our mission to connect Queer and Trans people, to facilitate Queer joy and, in turn, wealth, consider contributing to our campaign.

Help Us Make Our Space Safe, Accessible and Comfortable!

We want to make Queermunity accessible. Plus, we want to be super transparent about where your contributions will go towards and why. If we are asking you to come to Queermunity we want to ensure your safety, comfort, and creative freedom.

When you contribute to this campaign we’ll use the funds in this way:

Enhanced security will include locks and software to support the staff in providing a secure environment for our community.
We already have gender neutral bathrooms. But, we’d like to renovate and add ADA finishings and build two more bathrooms to keep the building up to code.
Imagine a birthday party and a business meeting happening a few feet away from each other. That could be annoying right? That’s where sound blocking, quiet rooms, and sound-proofing come in. Once we install these features people can work and play without distributing each other.
Comfortable, accessible, and adaptable furnishing / tools for mixed use. Upgrades will include accessible, quality, sustainable furnishings and light fixtures to accommodate various events and bodies.
Quality audio-sound technology and software will enhance community events and accessibility. Upgrades will include installing a surround sound system, 4K monitors, microphones, virtual event connectivity, projectors, and more.
