Community Guidelines for 2STLGBQIA+ Health Conference

Building a strong container for community learning takes all of us. These guidelines are, for the planning team and sponsoring organizations, the baseline for what we need at the Conference. We ask that you agree to these guidelines and center the needs of the whole throughout the day.

My Existence is not Up for Debate: Respect for all Participants
We value the diversity of our participants and expect everyone to be treated with respect and dignity, regardless of race, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, color, ethnicity, religion, ability, size, class or any other aspect of identity.
There is Space for All of Us: Inclusivity
We aim to create an inclusive environment that is welcoming and supportive to all participants. This includes being mindful of language and behavior that may be discriminatory or offensive to others.
What's Shared Here, Stays Here: Confidentiality
All participants are expected to maintain confidentiality and respect the privacy of others, including refraining from requesting personal information or taking photos or videos without consent.
Safety Together: Community Safety
Harassment, including but not limited to bullying, hate speech, and physical or verbal abuse, will not be tolerated and may result in immediate removal from the Conference. Please report any instances of harassment to a Conference organizer for support and opportunities for healing.
Safety Takes All of Us: Community Safety Plan
Our Conference organizers will have community support teams, traffic navigators, and medics on site for ongoing support and care throughout our time together. We require all attendees to leave guns or weapons of any kind at home. No guns or weapons of any kind will be allowed at the Conference.
You Deserve Care: Getting Support
If you experience or witness harassment, discrimination, or any other behavior that is inconsistent with these community guidelines, please report it to one of the designated info hubs at registration.
How You Show Up Matters: Responsibility and Accountability
All participants are expected to act in a responsible manner, including being mindful of their own well-being and the well-being of others, and acknowledging and repairing harm as it happens.
Take Space, Make Space: Open Dialogue
We encourage open and honest dialogue on topics related to 2STLGBQIA+ health justice, but ask that all participants be aware and recognize the impact of their words and actions on others. Get cozy with discomfort, as we know our best learning happens when we stretch and expand our comfort zones.
Privacy Matters: Demographic Information
The information collected in the following section will be kept confidential and is only accessible to Conference organizers at Pride Center of Vermont, Out in the Open, and Outright Vermont. Please note that demographic questions are optional and do not need to be answered to participate in the Conference, and any information you are wiling to share will help us understand conference participation and plan for future events.
