Did you know that the holidays can be very isolating for families who have children with special needs. As much as parents/caregivers long to be invited and accepted into the homes of friends and family for Thanksgiving or Christmas, they either turn invitations down because they are afraid of what their child might do to disrupt the socially accepted norms of being a guest in someone's home or they have tried going to other people's homes before and haven't been invited back. 

Would you like the power to change that for the families you know that might be in that position? Would you like to find a way to provide a delicioius Thanksgiving dinner and incredible community for a family you know who has children with special needs but you don't know how to do that? With your $15 donation, you can pay for the Thanksgiving dinner of one of our Determined Adventurers (special needs campers).  You see, at the R[4] Friendsgiving event, we are inviting everyone in with no fear of judgement or disapproval. Our doors are open for ALL families to feel safe and connected to other families who understand and embrace each child's unique abilities. This full Friendsgiving meal is just $15 per person. That is all it will cost to cover the meal of one of our Determined Adventurers so they can have a very special Thanksgiving meal together with their new extended R[4] family. Would you consider contributing that $15 to pay for the meal for one of our Determined Adventurers?

But the meal isn't all that is being done to create a memorable holiday for the families who attend R4's Friendsgiving! That's right! We have created a whole camp retreat event for these precious families. While the parents get a break to connect with each other and relax, the kids will be paired with buddies who will shadow them and help them have the BEST time ever! And the siblings are not forgotten. They get to join in all the camp fun as well and just let loose!

What kinds of things will the kids get to do while their parents/caregivers are enjoying some adult conversation and rest? Fishing, games, a climbing wall and zip line, hikes, basketball, gaga ball. a petting zoo, a hayride and much, much more! The kids who join us will have an absolute blast enjoying the great outdoors and enjoying the beauty of God's creation together in a safe and inclusive environment. But all of those fun activities do come at a cost. To rent Sabine Creek Ranch and do all of the activities we have planned for our families, the actual cost per person is $49. That's right. For a simple $49 donation, you can provide one of our Determined Adventurers and/or their families with a memorable and stress free Thanksgiving that they will remember for years to come. And if you would like to go a step further and sponsor a whole family, your gift of $245 will cover all the costs of this special Friendsgiving event for a WHOLE family of five to attend.
