Root Awakening Farm is a recovery farm creating space for people in addiction recovery to reconnect with themselves, community, nature, and meaningful work.

This collaboration between Root Awakening Farm and Wave & See Creative Sanctuary grew organically through spending time together, sharing space, and finding ways our communities and missions could overlap.

As allies to the recovery community, we saw an opportunity to support the work happening at the farm through what Wave & See does best: art, creativity, and bringing people together.

Root Awakening is currently building out the Farm Strong Jungle Gym, a new space centered around movement, strength, play, and recovery. Rather than simply painting a mural for the farm, we wanted the process of creating it to belong to the community too.

So we’re opening up the painting day and inviting you to make it with us.

There’s something especially fitting about coming together to create something new in a place where people are doing the work of creating new lives for themselves.

On September 12, we’re opening the farm up for an afternoon of mural painting, tacos, sauna + cold plunge, and inviting both of our communities to come be part of it.

Participation is donation-based and everyone is welcome. Donations through this event support Wave & See Creative Sanctuary, an arts + community nonprofit creating accessible opportunities for people to gather, create, learn, and connect throughout Tampa.

Come put your mark on the farm. 🐓🎨
