In Kenosha County, only 39 percent of third-grade students are reading at a proficient level. At a time when strong literacy skills are more important than ever, our students need access to high-quality books and meaningful reading experiences that spark curiosity, confidence, and a lifelong love of learning.

On Thursday, March 5, volunteers will step into more than 200 classrooms for Read Across Kenosha, bringing stories to life for thousands of students. This year, the event is growing in reach and impact. Not only are we reading with more classrooms than ever before, but we are also committed to donating even more books to local teachers.

Our goal is to raise $2,000 so that every participating teacher receives two new books for their classroom library. These books stay with students long after the event ends, creating lasting access to stories that inspire, comfort, and open new worlds.
