Story

400,000 People, 15 Productions, Five Radio Dramas, Four Short Films, 20 Advocates

Ripple Effect Artists, Inc. (REA) addresses injustice and causes social impact through art – primarily by producing masterful plays – presenting them along with talk-back discussions in partnership with educators and advocacy groups. These events, our education, and our game-changing philanthropy cultivate empathy, shift audiences from APATHY to ACTION, and create a RIPPLE EFFECT in the larger community. Ripple Effect Artists is an Actor’s Equity 501(c)3 theatre company.

This year, we offer a spotlight on the issue of Homelessness in New York and the United States.  As migrants come into our city by the hundreds every day, we use the power and provication of theatre to ask the questions, "How much longer do we ignore?  What can be done?  And who is really at the route of the issue?"

We will be putting on two productions in-rep that address this issue all while raising awareness and funds for THE BOWERY MISSION.  We will host talk-back conversations with this organization as well as ensure all in the audience know next steps that can be taken with this issue.

Your generous support will fund:

-Actor's Weekly salaries --We work with Equity contracts

-Theatre Rental

-Marketing Materials

-Other artistic personnel stipends

-Hosted talk-back conversations

  • Unsheltered rates are also trending upward, impacting most racial, ethnic, and gender subgroups.
  • Homeless services systems continued to expand the availability of both temporary and permanent beds in 2022, but these resources still fall short of reaching everyone in need.
