What is an Ergathon anyway?

An Ergathon is a classic crew fundraising event! What happens is our athletes row a specific time on rowing machines (ergs) and ask contributors to sponsor them for the event.

Every Fall RGCC organizes an Ergathon right in the center of downtown Wayne. The Ergathon helps us raise funds for athlete scholarships and to help cover our many expenses. These expenses include regattas, boat costs, facility rental fees and maintenance related costs. RGCC is a club sport, rather than a school-sponsored sport, which means we receive very little support from the school district. Less than 3% of our total operating budget is provided by the school district, so events like Ergathon and other donations greatly help to keep our program going.

Since we are a parent-run and parent-funded club, and because of the high costs associated with running a crew program, our fundraising efforts are extremely important. RGCC is not only passionate about rowing, but we are highly invested in building our girl's confidence, leadership skills, work ethic and unlocking their personal potential. Your continued support will enable our team to thrive this season and for years to come!
