About Worcester RISE for Health:

Created by a group of individuals passionate about serving refugees and immigrants, Worcester RISE for Health is the result of many organizations advocating for the need to re-envision care for new arrivals.

Newly arriving refugees often face language and cultural barriers, come from backgrounds of substantial trauma, and have been denied adequate healthcare in their countries of origin due to their gender, sexual orientation, race, religion, poverty, and more.

All are coming from different health systems and struggle to navigate healthcare in the U.S.; they are often unfamiliar with appointment systems, refills, and referrals, and may not have had access to preventive care, chronic disease management, or continuity of care.

Together, we are building a different approach based on community engagement, empowerment, and collaboration, centered on the unique needs of this population.

To accomplish this, we are creating dedicated medical office space that integrates trauma-informed principles with the cultural influences of our diverse patient population. We are building a space to care for the whole family—newborns, older children, adults, pregnant individuals, and elders—providing physical, psychological, and community health services!
