I am honoring my sister, Christine Ronan, my "big" sister, who passed away at just 20 years old. She never had the chance to benefit from the incredible treatments and compassionate care that organizations like NYOH provide to patients today. I walk in her memory, and for every patient who deserves the hope that she didn't have the opportunity to receive.
Like many members of this community, I have felt the profound loss that cancer brings. Within my own immediate family, I have lost my sister, my father and both of my grandfathers to this disease. These losses have shaped who I am and deepened my commitment to caring for others.
As a nurse, I channel this personal experience into my career as a Clinical Educator for Sanofi, where I specialize in Rare Bleeding Disorders and work closely with patients affected by Hemophilia. Through my work in healthcare, I've developed a deep respect for the mission of New York Oncology Hematology and the vital care they provide to patients and families.
Walking the runway for this fundraiser is my way of honoring those I've lost and supporting an organization dedicated to improving the lives of patients facing cancer every day.
Outside of my work, I have been happily married for 38 years to my best friend, Jim, and we have a wonderful daughter, Olivia, who is newly engaged. We're loving every minute of the wedding planning adventure. I'm passionate about traveling and about spending quality time with the people who matter most to me, my friends and my family.
