I'm walking in honor of all my patients.
I have been with NYOH for nine years, since 2017, and I have watched firsthand the extraordinary work the NYOH Community Cancer Foundation does to help and support patients with their many needs, medical and otherwise. I'm excited to be part of this event to further support that mission.
I subspecialize in GI and Head and Neck Cancers, which means I sit with patients and families through some of the most difficult diagnoses a person can face. These are cancers that touch not just the body but daily life in very immediate ways: how someone eats, speaks, breathes. Every day I see the impact that comprehensive support, not just treatment, can have on a patient's journey. That's exactly what the Foundation provides, and it's exactly why this cause matters so much to me.
Outside of the clinic, I'm the father of two girls, ages 9 and 11, and most of my free time goes toward keeping up with them. When I do get a quiet moment, you'll find me reading, listening to music, hiking or planning our next family trip. I'm also a former Medical Jeopardy Finalist, a fact I bring up more often than my daughters would probably like.
Walking for Rock Your Style is my way of standing alongside my patients outside the exam room, as an advocate and a supporter, and helping make sure the Foundation can keep showing up for the community the way it always has. Cancer care doesn't end when a patient leaves my office, and neither should our support.
